Incorrect Claims Made With Unsupporting Data by Science

Academics announce that wrong life choices make you sick. Scientists do make questionable statements. They say, 40 percent of deaths from cancer "could" be avoided if we gave uzp the vices and ate what we should eat. Yeah, we would all like to change our ways and live healthily, but such is the human condition that it is not possible.   ⦿2 cancer z incorrect z claims made x With z unsupporting z data z science scientific ⦿2 Despite tremendously high tax, people continue to smoke. And Governments are not serious about clamping down on alcohol. Though I do not support a tax on takeaway food which is full of carbohydrates, fat and salt, raising its cost to benefit treasury coffers is an option for authorities.   ⦿3 cancer b incorrect b claims b made b With b unsupporting b data b science ⦿3 Those who consciously avoid the sun all their lives still get skin cancer, so saying this will reduce fatalities is unproven. Do Not Use Genetic Testing for Alzheimer's, Herpes or Coeliac Disease!

Genetic testing should not be used for herpes, Alzheimer's or Coeliac disease. It seems that genetic testing is not all good for health problems. MedicineWise, a body of doctors and patients, has released an advisory list for scientists. DNA testing should no be used for coeliac disease, nor for herpes or Alzheimer's. Identifying a "causative" gene only indicates a probability. Indeed, screening for herpes in genetic testing for sexually transmitted disease is a misuse of resources.  Millions of dollars of government funding is wasted every year. A DNA finding is not a black and white issue. Gene determination is not 100 per cent. Many people with a "faulty" gene do live without ever getting the so called predetermined disease. Furthermore, patients can be falsely reassured by a DNA test. ◆ Chemistry by Ty Buchanan   ◆                Australian Blog   ★   Adventure Australia . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Live in a Queenslander for a Good Night's Sleep

Australiana: Live in a Queenlander house to get a good night's sleep. There isn't much doubt that the Australian climate can wear you down. This is not so much the case in winter, but those rainy cold days in Melbourne are off-putting. It is the hot balmy nights that are a burden with many people not getting enough sleep. Some would say that they wake up with a hangover when they didn't drink any alcohol. Humans have evolved to only fall asleep when body temperature dips. If there is hot air around you that puts a kibosh on that. You get dozy, momentarily drift off, then quickly wake up. It is the surrounding heat that keeps you awake. The problem in Australia is that we build the wrong kind of houses. They are based on the English. The double brick has been dropped in favor of brick veneer. A visitor to this country wonders how the the roof can be finished before a brick is laid. Brick are only for looks. However, bricks take in heat during the day and st

Psychologists Make Up Research Findings

Yes, the truth is out!. All of those silly questionnaires you are made to fill out when you apply for a job to see if you are psychologically suitable are rubbish. There is no truth or relevancy in them. They are just made up. Measuring nothing is their purpose. People are now in jobs requiring skills that they do not have - they should be doing something else. Tests from three psychology journals show that measures for skills, memory, personality, learning and relationships were very weak indeed. There was no consistency with the real world. Manipulation of data wasn't the problem: claims and statements were made by writers when there was no foundational proof for them.   It seems that hearsay, myth, misconception and blatant lying are features of academic articles on psychology. Didn't we suspect this all along? Of course we did! A top psychologist withdrew 50 academic papers because they had false conclusions. Research on ESP was found to have no data show

Baboons Can Recognize words

It was thought that monkeys and chimpanzees were unable to use language as humans do because they do not have the required language centers in their brains.  Tests on baboons turned this theory on its head.  Monkeys learned the rules of words, for example consonants and vowels, so they could recognize real words in a bundle of made up nonsense. Humans must first build up words from letters before they get meaning.  We need to construct words as if they were tables and chairs, from the legs up. Baboons were tested by encouraging them to "play" with computers.  When they selected a real word they got wheat as a reward.  Each computer had a cross and a circle so the baboons could show words and non-words by pressing either symbol.  The words were only four uppercase letters long, but each baboon did up to 60,000 tests and they were 75 per cent correct.  The best baboon learned 308 words http://www.adventure--australia.blogspot.com/ http://www.tysaustralia.blogspot.com/ http:
